Historic Women's Tour Unveiled by British and Irish Lions

 The British & Irish Lions just dropped some big news – they're launching their first-ever Women’s Tour in September 2027! It's called the Howden British & Irish Lions Women’s Series, and it's all going down in New Zealand, the reigning champs' turf. The Lions Women's team is gearing up for three Tests against the Black Ferns, plus some warm-up games before the main showdowns.

This whole idea got the green light after a serious study, funded by Lions Founding Partner Royal London. They dove into everything – branding, money stuff, fan experience, logistics, and timing. After that, they picked New Zealand as the go-to spot for the Tour. More deets on the Tour are on the way.

And it's not just about the game – there are some heavy-hitting sponsors on board. Royal London, the big shots in life, pensions, and investments, is the Founding Partner of the Lions Women’s Team. They're also rocking the front of the jersey as the official sponsor, all thanks to funding the initial study. They're even putting money into player development across the British & Irish Lions Unions.

Howden, a global insurance group, is in on the action too. They're the Series Title Partner for the inaugural Lions Women’s Tour, giving it the name Howden British & Irish Lions Women’s Series. These guys are already backing the Lions at the community level and are set to be the main jersey sponsor for the 2025 Lions Men’s Tour to Australia.

Megan Gaffney, a former Scotland pro, shared her thoughts, saying it's a historic day for the game. She's stoked about what this means for players across Scotland and the other home nations, highlighting how much the sport has grown.
